Art icons are turned into ‘Millennial’

Vicent van Gogh drinking coffee or the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer posing for an Instagram post along with the Venus by Botticelli.

From the observer perspective, we could think that we are looking at a fashion photo. Yet, almost suddenly we realize the model’s face is actually one belonging to a work of western classical art; in which we could also include the master Picasso.

The graphic designer Rodrigo Pinheiro shows us that collage is still a trend. The art captured in the collages of this artist consists in blurring the grain of the photography and merging the layers. Thereby, he manages to unite two completely different epochs through time (and through their layers).
